Břeclav Hospital is a general hospital of the so-called district type, with an extensive inpatient and outpatient component, providing diagnostic, therapeutic and nursing care for a catchment area of up to 130,000 inhabitants. It also participates in ongoing education of healthcare workers and practical education of students of medical faculties and students of medical schools. The founder of the hospital is the South Moravian Region. The medical part is represented by 23 medical specialties, of which there are 12 inpatient departments with a total capacity of 419 beds and an average number of hospitalized patients of approximately 20,500 per year. They provide services in the following specialties: internal medicine, neurology, dermatovenerology, pulmonary, infectious, pediatrics, surgery, urology, gynecology and obstetrics, otorhinolaryngology, anesthesiology and resuscitation, orthopedics, hematology and transfusion, rehabilitation and physical medicine. The laboratory and examination components consist of microbiology, biochemistry, hematology, anatomical pathology, radiodiagnostics, rehabilitation, clinical oncology clinics and central operating theaters with central sterilization.
